In the summer of 1997, Ray and his friends started a Bible study under the supervision of Pastor Jack Tomkinson and Faith BC.
Pete Hammond assisted in a semiofficial or official intern role. That summer, both Overcomers (or the unnamed Faith BC young adults) and a First Baptist Church of Perkasie-hosted grassroots Bible study were under the impression Christ was leading them to connect to other churches and promote a less isolationist view among the churches in the area.
Rubens Gh*nov led his Bible study hosted at First Baptist of Perkasie, which included a young woman named Chameleon. Chameleon is an interesting person who we'll come back to.
Overcomers and the Gh*nov Bible study began to have shared events and mutual members. In successive years after 1997, Ray was no longer the exclusive teacher at Overcomers. There was some form of split for a summer or so where Ray launched or relaunched “Overcomers” as an inter-denominational Bible study and his classmates continued the Faith BC Bible study.
Ray attended or collaborated with 1BC Perkasie until dropping out of Baptist Bible College (now Clarks Summit University)'s Seminary circa 2000.
